Thu Jun 13, 2019
With research and education at the core of the hospital’s mission, students of all ages find opportunities to learn and train through programs at the MGH. The MGH Youth Scholars, a program of the Center for Community Health Improvement, has hosted hundreds of high school students from Boston, Chelsea and Revere over the last two decades to encourage an interest in science, technology, engineering and math an offer the opportunity to work alongside professionals in varying departments and specialties. In this “I am MGH” video, three MGH Youth Scholars graduating high school this year share how the program’s internships, job training and mentorship affected their future plans. And, three former Youth Scholars share their experiences coming home to the MGH after college and offer their congratulations and well-wishes this year’s graduating class.A fully integrated, four-year high school program called MGH Youth Scholars focuses on career exploration, research and college readiness in conjunction with CCHI's existing youth programs.
